LAWN TENNIS
NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. The annual meeting of the New Plymouth Lawn Tennis Club was held on Saturday. The president, Dr Leatham, presided.
An alteration was made in 'the rule fixing tlie minimum age at which persons might be admitted to membership. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Dr. Leatham (re-elected); vice-president, Dr Home (re-elected); committee, Messrs G. O. Waddy, J. Paton, E. Griffiths, H. Stocker and S. Smith; auditor, Mr J. J. Weir. On the understanding that Mr H. Stoeker would take over the offices of secretary and treasurer at the end of the year, Mr H. B. Armitage was elected to hold the former office and Mr J. C. Nicliolson the latter until that time. The president moved a vote of thanks ito last season's lady secretary, Mrs Fitzherbert—Carried by acclamation. '
The President announced that donations had been received from Mr C. W. Govett (£2 2s) and jMr E. Griffith? ('trophy for ladies' championship), and that he himself and Dr Home would also give donations.
