BIBLE IN SCHOOLS.
GOVERNMENT DECLINE TO INTRODUCE LEGISLATION. Per Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Hon. G. I'owlds, replying to a Bible-in-Schools League deputation, said that after all it was religious instruction, no one could get away from it, and tho State had no right to entei: into this domain. The Premier said the Government definitely could not see its way to introduce legislation, for the leason that to do so woukl mean that the Government wa® favorable as a Government. If the change were desired by the people, it was for the people to give an indication. The Government would lie in a minority on this question, and it did not intend to introduce legislation. i
