D. liedl'ord, who represented Dtincdin in the last Parliament, was married last week to Miss Brown, daughter of an ex-Mayor of Maori Hill. Miss Noel Stead, only daughter of Mr and Mrs (i. LI. Stead, was married lo Mr Russell (irace, of Wellington, at St. Mary's, Merivale, Christchurch, on Wednesday last. The wedding was a quiet one, oil account of recent bereavement in the family. The bride was attended by Misses 0. Kettle, Jean Campbell, Marie Rhodes, and Sliona Rhodes, and the bridegroom was attended by Messrs .1. Greenfield, Edgar F. Stead, and Frank Grace.

The Hon. Captain W. D. H. Ikillie, M.Tj.C., who has been on a visit to the Old Country, returned to Wellington by the llimutaka on Wednesday. He is the oldest member of the Council, where ho has sat continuously since 18G1. It is lii'tv years ago since Captain Baillie visited the Old Country, and he returns much impressed with the great changes that have Iteen made there. He stayed some months ago in London, and also visited some friends in several of the counties. William Pritchard, the oldest member of the Institute of Architects, is dead (says a Press Association cable from Sydney). He arrived in New Zealand iti 1850. He erected, among other buildings, the large house which was flic scene of the terrible massacre at Poverty I>av.

The Rev. 0. A. T. Rickaby, 8.A., of Durham University, a home missionary in the diocese of Wellington, has been appointed vicar of Inglewood. He will take up his duties about the middle of December.
