THE TURAKINA FIRE INQUIRY.
Per Press Association. Wellington, Friday. At the Turakiua lire inquiry the president, Dr. McArthur, stated that to get at the bottom of the whole matter it would be necessary to bring the flaxgraders from Auckland and the Bluff to Wellington to give evidence. Dr. McArthur also stated that some of the bale 3 stowed in No. 5 hold had, since being sold, been opened and found to be heated. This afternoon the members of the Turakina Fire Inquiry Commission visited the vessel. Two bales of flax with similar brands to thoss of the bales transhipped to the Ruapehu were examined and found to be hot. The Court considered it advisable to inform the captain of the Ruapehu of the condition of the bales, so that he may keep'watch on tuem during the voyage to England.
