PERSONAL.
Mr. Harry Qucaley. a well-known comedian of the old Pollard's Opera Company, passed through New Plymouth yesterday morring. Messrs. F. Griffiths ml F. Morshead have been appointed substitute representatives of tlic Whitelcy Memorial Church to the Methodist Synod to be held at Palmcrston in December.
Bishop Neligan, who with his wife and family leave Auckland at Christmas for a trip to England, will preach in St. Paul's Cathedral on the Sunday before the great missionary congress.
It is understood that Constable O'TTalloran has been offered a transfor and promotion, to the charge of the station at Taradale, in Ilawkes Bay. Those who have had business with the "force' 5 since his appointment here will be sorry to learn of his intending departure, for lie has been t; a white man" in the discharge of his duties. But they will agree that he deserves the promotion, for which he has conscientiously fitted himself.
