1 'FRCIO MOB'S CONFLICT WITII JAPANESE. DISTURBANCE QUELLED BY POLICE SEVERAL INJURED. ~

An anti-Japmese riot occurred liere. It arose" through a'drunken white man breaking the windows of a Japanese laundry. The owner seized and detained him, and snnmionrd the palice. The drunkard's friends collected a inob and destroyed tlic laundry. Two Japanese were sent to the hospital severely injured, and ten others were badly hurt.
In dispersing the mob, the police used their batons freely, and twenty whites were rather severely clubbed.
