DEFENDED BY BEN TILLETT, Per Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. At the close ofhis address to-ni"ht Ben Tillett was asked to state his opinion of Keir Hardie. He replied: "Keir Hardie 19 a very good fellow indeed, and you must not take all the Press savs for gospel. As a matter of fact, the Most important heads and representatives of the Press in India who are in correspondence with our own great papers hare united in a protest about the misrepresentations going on a; to the condition of affairs existing in India, lour excitable member of the Parneli tOMeil has shown himself to be very un-Bntish in his remarks. If Mr Keir Hardie comes here he will be able to aake out a good case for himself.
