Steady rain is tailing j to-night, though it promises fine for toi morrow. TARANAKI METROPOLITAN COMMITTEE. [ The Taranaki Metropolitan Committee met last night .there were present: Messrs E. Watum (chairman), A. CliiT, O. \V. Sole, Eliis, A. Goldwater, |C. Lepper, A. R. Siaudish, and \V. (J. j Weston. | A letter was read from the Riicing I Conference respecting the request of the Manaia Hack Racing Club to place, among others, the names of the horses Blackguard and Retlaw on the unpaid forfeit list. Mr Uankh n wrote that as both horses were allowed to start, they could not be placed on the list as asked, owing to an amendment of the racing laws.—The committee had replied that they had not expected the amendment to be retrospective. An application was received from Arthur Wingate for the removal of his disqualification imposed for riding at unregistered meetings—The request was granted. The Hawke's Bay Club notified the tanceUation of A. Erickson's jockey's license. , Permission was granted the Wailii Sports Club to issue emergency riders' licenses on 14th November at their sports. The programme of the Egmont Racing Club's summer meeting and of the Stratford Racing nub's Sew Year meeting were approved and pissed Gentlemen riders' certificates were issued to Harry George and C. Stockman, irainers' licenses were granted to A Bam (Hawera), and H Taylor (Waitara); jockeys' licenses to L. Kemp r. March, and W. Jones (apprentice). Jockeys licenses were refused to Joe stockman and Henry Copestake (apprentice). 1 * ro ße H.
