Wellington, Last Night. Mr U. ii. Dartou, whose statementg with regard to nat.ve schools have been denied by the Minister for Education, when interviewed to-day reiterated every one o» his former statements, and stated that his iigures.to the coat of nativ* education, and his remarks as to salaries being paid independent of a falling off in attendance, could be proved from a Departmental document, while his remarks as to the comparison between native and board schools, the sanitary conditions of the former, the lack of certificated teachers in native schools and the supplying 0 f biscuits to nativa schools by the Department, were all matters within his own personal knowledge. He added that on his return to Gisuorne he would reply in detail to the statements of the Minister.
