Edward Roberts, aged about 40 years was picked up by the police in Lowe: Queen-street this morning, and as hi appeared to be seriously ill, a constabh conveyed him to the district hospital where he died half an hour after ad mission. A certificate from Dr. Hoop-a was found in Roberts's possession stat ing lie was suffering from heart disease Nelson, Saturday Night. Constable Brooks, of Westport, whe had brought a lunatic for the menta hospital, fell or walked out of the third story window of the Royal Hotel to thi pavement below. After medicn' attention he was sent to the hospital. Lyttelton, Last Night. Michael Henry, watchman on the Har bor Board dredge Manchester at Lyttel ton, was found floating under the wharl 'limit 5 a.m. It is supposed he misset his footing and fell in the water while stepping from the wharf to the vesse' about daylight. Deceased was about 5f years of age, a native of Cornford, Ire. land, and was an exceptionally quiet am! steady man. lie had been employed or the dredge for seven years.
