ALLEGED FIENDISH ACT.

Per Press Association. Wellington, Saturday. Edward Murtagli, a jockey, wai charged at the Stipendiary Magistrate' Court to-day with wounding an infan named Tui Leigh with intent to di grievous bodily harm. The allegation are that accused lived in the sami boarding-house as the baby, and tha yesterday its mother and Murtagh hai words, during which accused cut thi child's thigh with a razor. The woun< is serious, and the child is not yet oul of danger. Prisoner was remanded unti the 10th instant. Bail was allowed on accused's own bond for £IOO and two sureties of £SO each.
