A LOAN NEGATIVED.
Per Press Association. Ashburton, Last Night. A poll was taken to-day on a proposal to raise a loan of £20;000 to provide a high-pressure water-supply for the borough. Out of 700 voters on the roll only 305 exercised their privilege, and, the opposition party having worked hard, the proposal was lost by 280 to 99.
