Per Press Association. Wellington, Thursday. I A letter has been received in Wellington from Dr. Emanuel Lasker, chess champion, stating that either at the end of 1908 or 1909 he intended making a tour through the chess world, extending to New Zealand and Australia, and asking whether New Zealandere would welcome him and, arrange a programme of work, in addition to lectures, and practical work. Dr. Lasker would be willing to give public instruction, for instance, in schools.. The letter has been passed on to the Chess Association fdr necessary action. .
