ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
Dunedin, Last Night. A boy named.Roy Dempster, aged 18 /months, whose parents reside at Flag I Swamp, died yesterday as the result of injuries sustained through being kicked by a horse on September 25th.
SAVED FROM DROWNING. Per Press Association. Blenheim, Thursday. A .schoolboy, the son of Mr. H. P. Hall, fell off the Omaku, bridge into deep water. He was not noticed at' the moment, but a lad named Sheridan, passing by, saw the body floating. He plunged in and was in time to save the boy's life, though the boy had sunk twice. •
RESCUED IN TIME. Per Press Association. . Masterton, Last Night. A boy named Arthur Roy Lee, aged four, had a narrow escape from drowning about 1 o'clock thiß afternoon. He was playing with his brother on the bank of the Waipoua river, and fell in. The river was in flood, and a strong running, and ho was carried down stream some distance. Kenneth Scott, of Lansdowne, riding across the Waipoua bridge on horseback, noticed the lad floating down, and immediately, dismounted and plunged into the river, and rescued the boy, who was unconscious. Artificial respiration was employed, and he was brought round, and a doctor attended hun.
