AMUSEMENTS.

MISS MAUD HILDYABD. "A WAENING TO WOMEN." The Now Zealand Herald (Auckland), speaking of .Miss Hildyard, says:—'"A. crowded jiun.se witnessed the second production of "A Warning to Women'' by Hie Maud Ilildyard Company at His Majesty's Theatre. The melodramatic play was received with frequent signs of appreciation. Its sensational denouements and dramatic situations were impressively represented. Miss Hildyard's work as the ill-fated Moira Kcnnion, victim of an inherited craving for morphia and for strong drink, was again thoroughly artistic. This capable actress enchained the interest of her audience from tile commencement, holding it until the end. Mr Conway Wingfield repeated his flue performance as Shaun, and Mr James Lindsay, in the role of the terrible Dr. Dread, gave a powerful delineation thereof. The supporting members of an evenly-balanced company enacted their several parts with talent. General appreciation of the excellent mounting of the piece was evinced." "A Warning to Women" will be produced in the Theatre Royal, New Plymouth ,on Monday, October 7th.
