RIFLE SHOOTING
The teams have been selected and arrangements made for the rille match between teams representative of the Taranaki rille clubs and of the active members of the Taranaki volunteer companies (exclusive of the Battalion officers). The clubs' team is weakened by the departure of Captain Speck and his brother, of the Iluiroa club, for Australia, and by the fact that Ilahotu and Kaitake clubs are unable to send representatives. The volunteer team is selected from every company except the Hawera Rifles, who failed fo reply in time. The match is to be commenced on the Rewa Rciva range at 8 o'clock on the morning of Thursday, October 10th, and the visiting shots will arrive in town the night previous. The teams are as follows;—Rifie Clubs—Mangorci, M. J. Marsh, A. Marsh, J. A. Batten; Urenui, C. Rundle, C. Greenwood, E. Crossman; Iluiroa, A. Upson, A. Speck, J. Kippenherger; Kaponga, Dr. D. W. Maclagan, F. Guy; Tarata, E. and A. Bishell, A. fjiivenlock; Tariki, G. Stanton and ,T. Theikleson. Volunteers— Taranaki Rifles, Lieut. Humphries, Corporal Armitage, Privates A. and T. Marett; Guards, Col.-Sergt. Hartnell, Privates Short and Bennett; Stratford, Private King; Inglewood, Lieut. Surrey; Waitara, Sergeant Sampson; Patea, Lieut. White, Col.-Sergt. Hulbert, Private Carey; Eltliam, Sergeant Vincent, Private Fox; emergencies, Private Martin (Guards), Col.-Sergt. Lister (Rifles), Sergeant Madden (Stratford), Private McEwen (Guards).
