'We are in receipt of the first number of Wellington's new morning paper, The Dominion. Slaking due allowance for defects inseparable from the initial production of a big daily, the latest addition to the growing ranks of Now Zealand newspapers is distinctly creditable. Establishing a daily paper in a place like Wellington, where opposition is so formidable, is one of the hardest of tasks, and one involving tremendous expense. To undertake it, the promoters of The Dominion exhibit great faith in themselves and the district they are catering for, and are not deficient in enterprise and pluck. They have a particularly row to hoe. And they will deserve, as they undoubtedly will earn, any success achieved. We wish them well,
