TARANAKI ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the Taranaki Provincial ; iiowliug Association was held at Strut- j ford on Thursday. There were present] —Air It. Botts, lion, secretary, and delegates from New Ply-! mouth, iiiglcwood, Eltham and Hawera. j An apology was reeived from the de- ; legato of the Fitzroy Club, who at tiic] last moment found it impossible to it-1 tend. The Council drew up a series of rules to govern the Association. Itj was provided, amongst other things,' that a club possessing at the time of entry not morn than 25 playing mem-1 hers may enter for a competition eno rink only; but the clubs who are in such tournament playing two rinks, will bo at iberty to re-cast their rinks, so as to play their strongest four J against the club' playing one rink. It: wis decided, on the'motion of the ITaweva delegate, to hold the next touma-1 ment at Stratford, colmmencnig in the third week in February. Christmas week- .and Easter, week were snegestel, but not approved. Inglcwood Club was elected a member of the Association. It was decided to make the subscription for the yew £1 for every club in the Association, which amount is payable before 31st December next. The new rules will permit chilis such is Patea, Pihamn, Afanaia, Opunnke and Kltiiam to take part in the annual tournament, as it will not he necessary for them as heretofore, to find two' full rinks; the option resting with all clubs having under 20 playing members to enter one or two rinks.
