LIVING -WHIST AND KIRMESS. It required a full house such as greeted the raising of the curtuin at the Theatre Royal lust night to will from the scores of light-footed performers their best efforts, and it is no discn dit to the performances on the two previous nights to say that the items, individually and collectively, went with a, swing and finish surpassing even the excellence of the earlier efforts The performers have now a full measure of confidence Jin their ability, and there is consequently an entire absence of any of the hesitancy tint mav have previously been noticeable. Dancing therefore with perfect collective freedom, grace and precision born of practice' the entertainers gave last night's large audience a great deal more th in had ever been expected from a combination of amateurs. Applause was most liberally bestowed, and recall numbers were the order of the evening. Naturally the sympathy of the audience chiefly manifested itself towards the children, whose performances must be
seen ti (h> realised, the Highland dances being a treat to witness. Last night the fallowing programme was gone through:—Scotch Reel, Gipsy Dance, Navaho, Ribbon Dance, Irish Court Dance, Cake Walk-, Living Whist, Highland Fling, Espanola. A number of acceptable items was rendered by the efficient orchestra.
To-night's performance should easily
be thp beet of the series. The whole programme, comprising 18 company •lances and Living Whist, fa to be gone through. Several of the dances will be for thf* first, time, hnving been pp«dally reserved for to-night. In view of the length of the programme, no encore numlior- will be given. There are

The days of old when ballet dangers and nijrjrer minstrels formed the principal item of vaudeville has passed, and in its place has risen a new era of highly-paid specialists, whose acts are a pleasure to witness and of interest to everyone. Of such an attraction is Madam and Professor Klaer'i animal act.
