CONSPIRACY OR OUTRAGE ? ,
[ London. September 23. Lord Ashtown, the noted Irish landlord, is bringing a claim for compensation against those whom he accuses of being concerned in the explosion which took place at Glenshirv Lodge, His shooting estate in County Wexford. The claim is being heard at the van sessions. °
The defence implies that Lord Ssh'town and his servants, or the servants without Lord Ashtown's connivance, committed the outrage to sustain the statements contained in Lord Ashtown's publication, "Grievances from Ireland."
Mr Lloy.l, the British Government Inspector of Explosives, considered the window and shutters were onen when the bomb exploded. Other "witnesses were strongly of the opposite opinion.
DAMAGES AWARDED. Received Sept. 24, 10.11 p.m. London, September 24. In connection with Lord Ashdown's claim against the Countv of Watcrford, Judge Fitzgerald found that the explosion was a malicious outrage, and that there was no foundation "for the •llegation against Lord Ashdown. The Judge awarded him £l4O damages.
