SHORT-WEIGHT BREAD.
Per Press Association. Wellington, Monday. The provisions of the Pure Pood Bill, regarding light-weight bread, were the subject concerning which a deputation interviewed the Minister of Health. It represented the Wellington Master Bakers' Association. The deputation was under the impression that by the terms of the Bill evei-y loaf of bread delivered by the baker had to be weighed at the buyer's door, and any deficiency made up. Against this, the deputation entered an emphatic protest. In reply the Minister said there was no general weighing provided for by the Bill. It simply put on bakers the onus of proving that the bread they sold was of the weight it was represented to be.
