HUNT CLUB MEET.
The final meet of the North Taranaki Hunt Club took place on Thursday afternoon at Bell Block. Mrs R. Street had kindly placed her property at the disposal of the club. A fair number of members sat down to a sumptuous repast. At the conclusion Mr Cliff, the huntsman, spoke as to the way Mrs Street had followed up each meet during the season. Three hearty cheers were then given for Mrs Street and MiHarold Street. Unforttmately the rain came down furiously shortly after the "throw off," and, after about an hour in 1 the field, the members had to seek shelter at the homestead, where afternoon tea was partaken of. A number of members stayed for the evening, and dancing was kept up till a late hour. The rain unfortunately spoiled what would have been one of the most enjoyable meets of the club, and regret was expressed on all sides that the afternoon had turned out so rough. ) Amongst the members present were:— | Mesdames Cliff, Taylor, King, Miss Salway, Messrs A. Cliff (master) on Kiri, W. Boulton on Alpine, P. Stanley on Egmont, W. Stanley on True Blue, P. Solo on Black Jack, J. H. and 11. Street, E. Julian on Reynardean, F. and P. Sampson, Taylor, Fitzroy, and W. Fall.
