PETROLEUM.

The directors of the Taranaki Petroleum Company, in their weekly report, regret that there is very little new to report. At No. 1 they are still fishing for whatever is causing the obstruction; No. 2 is down 2123 ft, and there seems some prospect that water is shut oil'; No. 3 is down 2312 ft, and is still drilling, while at No. 4 the work of reaming and inserting the Bin casing is going forward.
