SLY-GROG IN CLUTHA.
Per Press Association. Duncdin, Last Night. At Balelutha to-day, before Mr. Crnkkshank, S.M., James Ludlow, proprietor of the Railway Private Hotel. was fined £SO on a charge of sir-grog selling. The principal witness for the police was Constable Shalders, who joined the police force on August 12th. and who went to Ralclutha the same afternoon. Reuben Rowney, for the defence, said he had a whisky with accused and Shalders, but said the last natntd took it with him in a bottle. Several other witness- for the defence .leuie.l having had liquor in accused's hoii-*-. A second charge of keeping liquor for Bale was di-niioed.
