DECISION REVERSED. In the ease of the transfer Amy Melville to T. Hayes, section 13, block 13, Mahno. and section 7, block 4, Omona, a request was made asking for reconsideration of refusal to agree to the application.—After reviewing the circumstances, and in view of their exceptional nature, the Board approved the transfer. NON-COMPLIANCE.
The following selectors who had not complied with the conditions of improvement .mil residence had been notified to explain why they had not done so: W. Woods, section 20, block 14, Aria, non-residence, and 11. Johnston, section .'(, block 3, Xgatimaru, non-residence.— Resolved that notice be given to the Superintendent, as mortgagee, of the Board's intention to forfeit the interests of these sections. 1). and D. S. Maxwell, sections 1 to 5, block 1, Taurakawa, and 2 to 4, block 1-J. Mahoe, deficient improvements, unable to obtain bushfellers.—Extension granted to end of present year. A. E. E. Belcher, section 5, block 15, Upper Waitara, non-residence. Selector stated house on section not habitable; could not get timber carted in to complete it owing to bad weather.—Consideration deferred for the ranger's report. J. MeGrath, sections 1 and 2, block 8, Aria, deficient improvements. Selector states he is getting timber ready for building and further improvements.— Consideration deferred for ranger's report. The Superintendent, Government Advances Office, advised be would waive the statutory notice, and asked thift steps be taken to re-offer section GO, block 4, Paritutu, weighted with valuation for improvements.—The interest of the selector will be declared forfeited and the land re-offered for selection. REMISSION OF RENT.
11. Ilealy asked for a remission of rent on section 2, block 7, Aria, as the great increase of area was rather heavy on him.—Resolved that under the special circumstances a remission of six months' rent be granted. Til K FREEHOLD. The following applications for the freehold were approved:—W. Blennerhasselt, jiui., section 11, block 0, Kapara; G. <liven, section 1, block 1, Egmont. RANGERS' REPORTS. John Barron, Crown Lands Ranger, reported on the inspection of fourteen holdings comprising I!HS acres. Requirements, U"2!)53; improvements effected. ,C 17.10. One selector is non-resi-dent and has not effected any improvements, and two have not effected sufficient improvements. K. Toline. Crown Lands Ranger, reported on the inspection of 31 holdings comprising an area of 1'.1,'272 acres. Reuiiircmeiiis, tTI),'.BS; improvements effected, £]<).•">:!;■!. Twenty are resident, and seven have not complied with the conditions in ibis respect; three of these h.ue mit effected sufficient improvements. Three others have not effected sullieient improvements. The Board decided to call on those in default to explain why they have not complied with the conditions. GENERAL. John Hewer asked that the name of ' W. W. Smith be joined with his in the transfer of section 1!>, block 13, Poualu, from P. .1. White- (deceased) to him.— Approved. John Melvor applied to subdivide section."i 7, block 13, Puuatu, and transfer subbseeiion 1 to H. J. Archer and subjection 2 to E. M. Anderson.—Approved, subject to the Commissioner being satislied with the subdivision survey. A plan showing amendment of area of section 1, block 9, Pouatu, by land cut off for homestead site for section 3 was laid on the table.—The section will be re-olVered. Plan of deviation of Marco road in
sections 1 and 3, block 'J, Pouatu, was aid ou the table.—Approved.
l'lau of deviations of Tarere road affecting small grazing runs 11 and 5, Opaku S.D. was laid on the table Mr. Ferguson waited on the Board and stated that all he required was a. workable adjustment for homestead purposes. —Deferred for further information.
I'. J. Goldfinch asked that residence on section 5, block 10, Ohura, be dispensed with owing to the roughness of the land and absence of suitable site for building.—Under the special circumstances personal residence will not be insisted on.
Hanger Tolme reported on the application of G. 11. Mossman for a lease of section 20, block 15, Aria, adjoining his holding.—A yearly tenancy at £1 per annum was granted, subject to termination by three months' notice.
Hanger Tolme also reported on the application of .1. Itegglin for a lease of part of block 4, township of Aria.— Yearly tenancy granted, terminable upon three months' notice, at 5s per annum. The following applied for a rehearing of their eases, having paid arrears of rent for which thev had been forfeited: E. 0. 8. .lour-', action 30, block 11, Opunake; repiv- ■••.•.live, of 0. 1). Wiley (deceased), w.ii-:-. <:). block 11. Opunake; A. L. Morey, section 3(1, block 11, Opunake.—The rent having been paid, tin- resolutions of forfeiture were rescinded.
The ranger's report on improvement on sections 107 and 10!), block (i, fountu, was considered. E. M. Izett applied for a lease of the land and for assistance to llnd valuation for improvements.— He-olvod to oiler the land for selection under part ,'! of the Land Act, 1S!)2, with CIOO valuation for buildings. The I'lHler-Sccrokiry for Crown Lands informed the Hoard its recommendation to suspend action on Iho proposals for expenditure of accrued thirds in Stratford County had been approved.—Acknowledged. IMPROVED FAHM LEASES.
Two improved farm settlers applied for their leases as follows:—E. W. Davis, section 10, blo'k !), Totoro; E. W. Bench, section Hi, block 15, Aria. Tin l leases will be issued accordiiHv. overdue nrcxTS. A schedule of 3!) tenants in arrear with their rent was laid on the table, they having been previously notified to pay tin" amounts due. The Commissioner was empowered io take action. ACCRUED THIRDS. The Tatoa County Council submitted proposals for expenditure of £1(17 17s 74 accruod thirds.—Approved, subject to Ihe ranger's report.
