Many remarkable revelations are threatened when the United States Government attack on the tobacco Trust comes to a hea'd in the courts, and it is stiied that tlio information obtained by the Government investigations, which will be made public, will lie of an alarming character, even in this country of frenzied finance. It will be alleged that the formation of the Trust was carried out bv the manipulation of corporate relations which had for its object the exclusive advantage, of a small coterie of about fifteen insiders. The profits of these individuals are placed at least £8,000,000 in the course of little more than three years. Tt is stated that by working together in a syndicate or pool, these ins'hlers absorbed the stocks of miMy subsidiary companies, by the exchange of stocks, They called themselves the Consolidated Tobacco Company, but it is said that the whole of the stock of this company is held by the fifteen insiders, into whose pockets practically the whole of the enormous revenues of the Tobacco Trust has flowed.
