Cargoes are steadily upheld; 40s is asked for Victorian September-October shipments; buyers holding off. Australian on spot is sfitrec at 40s and 41s. New Zealand (nominal) 37s fid for short-berried, 38s (id long-berried.
Flour —Firm. Australian very scarce;. 20s Od to 27s fld is quoted in London, 28s to 28s (id in Glasgow. Butted—The market is firm. Danish 112s to 114s, choicest Queensland 102s. There is nothing done in scored colonial, the supplies of Home and Continental butters being still plentiful. Bradford wool—Quiet and firm. Forties 16'/jd, forty-sixes 17d, common sixties 28d, super 295. HIDE AND SKIN REPORT. Dalgcty and Co., Ltd., report having held their fortnightly sale of wool, skins, hides and tallow at Wellington on Friday. In wool, only a few bales of crutchings were submitted, but a large catalogue of skins and also hides was offered. The market for good skins showed a firmer tone, and good cow hides were also slightly in advance of last sale. Others, were equal to about last rales. We. quote: Wool—Crutchings, medium 5y 4 d to Cd, heavy and inferior 2'/ s d to dead wool (in bags) o%d to 7y-d, crossbred (bags) 5d to «%d. Skins—Crossbred shorts 7d, crossbred half-wools 7%d to B'/£d, crossbred, fine, y'/ 3 d, crossbred 9y 2 d, crossbred, dead, Od to 7d, crossbred, dead and broken Od to crossbred, damp, 5s Od to 7s Id, light 3a Cd to 4s 3d, crossbred, green, 0s Od to (is lid. Hides—Ox, heavy and medium, 5%d to Od per lb, light 4'/ 2 d per lb, cut and slippy 3%d to 4d; cow, heavy and medium, 4%d to sd, light 4d to 4%d,. yearlings 4'/ 2 d, good calf Od to 7>/ I d,"cut 2%d to sd. Tallow—We again offered a good catalogue, and quote: Casks 24s to 275, tins 22s Od to 235.
