The amateur championsM;; of Hawkes Bay was won l>y Arthur Duncan, with a score of 159 for the two rmnuls. ]lis score to-day was 70, a record for the links, heating l>y two points the previous best record of 78 made by S. 11. Collan and Kurupo Tarelm four years ago. Duncan's driving, approaching, anil putting were all splendid, and his performance, to-day was undoubtedly th,' finest all round exhibition ever seen on the links, either by amateur or professional. J. Carne Bidwell Kill, Kurupo Tarelia 109, G. Thorburn 171, 11. B. Lusk 171, Kapi Tarelm 174, and D. 1!. Hurray 174 were the next best scorers in this event. In the Open Championship of NewZealand for professionals Maclauren (Dunedin) won by one point from David Hood, the scores being 1(17 and 108 respectively. F. 0. Hood 10!), .1. H. Herd ]<!!>, .1. A. Clements 172, D. .loimstono 174, P. Pi'.Vde 185, and A. J. Milliner 103 were; the other scores in this. The winners of the third round for the Amateur Championship of New Zealand are H. D. Bnmford, ,1. 0. Kettle, T. Lynch, Major Jordon, 0. A. Dargaville, IT. B. Lusk, W. ITandysidc, C. Armstrong, A. H. Fisher, K. D. Duncan, IT. V.. Wright, A. Duncan, Eeid, ,T. F. Ivitchie, C. A.
