ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Per-Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Frederick Doyle, a member of th"e Permanent Artillery, Btationed at Auckland, died in the hospital tfiis afternoon ffrom the effects iof burns sustained in a kerosene lamp accident on the 10th August. Doyle was arranging a lamp in tho drillsEqd when an explosion occurred, tho flames quickly igniting his clothing ans causing the injuries. • Wellington, Last Night. . At the inquest on George Henry Athea, th'g'tram conductor who fell from a car at Kilbirnie yesterday, evidence was given by three persons who saw deceased fall, and by others. The medical evidence showed that death was due to concussion of the brain. A verdict of accidental death was returned, no blame being attaehajble to anyone.
