Mrs. Dockrill,- U, e Mayoress, again takes charge of the arrangements for the New Plymouth Fire Brigade's annual ball to be held in the Theatre Royal on the night of the King's Birthday. Newton King reports the sale by auction of the freehold of Egmont Buildings, situate in Broadway, to Messrs. .McMillan and Prcdric, plumbers and electrical engineers, of Stratford. Indor instructions of the Hoard of School Commissioners, Mr. Newton King will sell by public auction at his mart, New Plymouth, on 21st inst., perpetually renewable leases of a large number of education reserves ranging in area from 07 to 107G acres. Further particulars are advertised. The Noith Taranaki Hunt Club's meet, which was to bo held at Urenui on Friday next, has been unavoidably postponed. The present state of the weather is very unpleasant, but not so with the •St. Joseph's euchre party which will eventuate this evening. The floor is in excellent order for the dance; the prizes are both unique and valuable; the music is all that e:m be desired; the ladies' committee have the supper arrangements completed, and a pleasant evening is anticipated.
