BCUNSIDE STOCK MARKET. Dimedin, September 4. At liurusido stock market 1212 sheep were penned. There was a small yarding of fair quality sheep, which were eagerly sought, prices showing an advance of 3s on last week's rates. Best wethers 27s to 30s, extra to 32s 3d, medium to good 22s to 255, best ewes 21s Od,iiicdiiii;i to good 22s to 255, best ewes 21s !)d, medium to good 18s to 20s. Cat lie—23B yarded, including a good entry of prime beef, which met with k-'di competition. At the commencement of the sale prices were hardly equal to late rates, but towards the'finish the sale brightened, prices showing a slight improvement on last week's values. Sheep were yarded in average numbers at Newmarket on Tuesday and sold it advanced rates, wethers bringing from £1 to £1 12s 6d, ewes £1 to £1 ss, hoggets 15s to £1 2s Cd. Pigs were wanted and sold well. Porkers realised from 19s Cd to £1 15s, baconers £2 Is to £3 2s, weaners 10s Cd Ito IBs 9d.
