BCUNSIDE STOCK MARKET. Dimedin, September 4. At liurusido stock market 1212 sheep were penned. There was a small yarding of fair quality sheep, which were eagerly sought, prices showing an advance of 3s on last week's rates. Best wethers 27s to 30s, extra to 32s 3d, medium to good 22s to 255, best ewes 21s Od,iiicdiiii;i to good 22s to 255, best ewes 21s !)d, medium to good 18s to 20s. Cat lie—23B yarded, including a good entry of prime beef, which met with k-'di competition. At the commencement of the sale prices were hardly equal to late rates, but towards the'finish the sale brightened, prices showing a slight improvement on last week's values. Best bullocks £lO to £ll 10s, extra to £"i2 17s (id, medium to good £8 to £lO, best cows and heifers £8 to £9.
Pigs—(lo yarded. There was a really gooil sale. Suckers 15s to 20s, porkers Ms to 475, haconers 52s to Cos. There were no store pigs. AUCKLAND STOCK MARKET.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company report:— Horses—On Friday horses were yarded in average numbers and sold under steady competition. Heavy draughts realised from £25 10s to £3B, medium do. £l7 lOsto £3l 15, hacks and light .harness horses £7 10s to £2O, weeds £3 5s to £6 10s.
Cattle were yarded in average numbers at Newmarket on Tuesday. Dairy cows soid at from £3 10s to £7, empty do. £1 18s to £2 12s (id, calves £1 to £1 lis. Beef was yarded in average numbers and was mostly of good quality, although of light weight. Competition was keen at an advance on last week's rates, oxen selling to 24s per 1001b, and cows 18s to 20s per 1001b Steers sold at from £7 10s to £ll 17s Cd, cows £3 15s to £8 15s.
Sheep were yarded in average numbers at Newmarket on Tuesday and sold it advanced rates, wethers bringing from £1 to £1 12s 6d, ewes £1 to £1 ss, hoggets 15s to £1 2s Cd. Pigs were wanted and sold well. Porkers realised from 19s Cd to £1 15s, baconers £2 Is to £3 2s, weaners 10s Cd Ito IBs 9d.
Wo submitted a large catalogue of hides, skins, and tallow on Tuesday, all linos being sold under good competition atl ate rates.
