HORSE PARADES.
Sir, —In one of your recent issues you had a paragraph about tlio lateness of V>rsc parade*. I <juite agree with >'ou that these should be held earlier thannow arranged, and certiinlv no later than the, iirst week in September. Already owner* of mares are making ard have mado stud arrangements. And, aa has often been the case iu the past, when they see the season's sires on the parade ground they will wish they had not been so prompt. But breeders now are reaching out for early foals—the earlier the better. Tf a norm* parade is to he of any real value to us it should be held much earlier. There** nnother point of view. too. "Earlier parades should suit the stallion owners who nre introducing a new horse to the district. It is well known that ninny new horses do a poor season simply because the farmers and others, not knowing the quality of the row blood. Mick to the known horses. So enrlier parade# phonld suit the ow.iei's of stallions ns well ns the breeders. Thanking von for brincinrr the matter up. and hopin? the Turnout and Tarl- - Agricultural Societicis will t-.ikr note.—T am, etc., , FARHEU,
