NIGHTCAPS MINE INQUIRY.
Per Press Association. Invereargill, Last Night. The Nightcaps inquiry was continued to-day, when Mr. Lloyd was further examined at great length. He explained that at the inquest he had not intended to convey that he had risked the lives of men to save the property of his employers, but that, In sending men in he had taken the ordinary risk in the can of a mine on fire. The chairman said the witness had evidently been caught by some of the questions at the inquest, and commended him for his straightforward answer before the Commission.
