EXTENSIVE LAND SLIDE.
LIGHTHOUSE. BUILDINGS IN DANGER. Per Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. On the arrival of. the Mokoia from the South on Sunday, Captain Smith rcprted that the lightkeeper at Cuvier Island signalled for the Hinemoa to be sent down at once. The Hinemoa ran down to the island this morning. The lightkeepers reported that a big landslide took place on Saturday night, damaging the chief keeper's house.- Some three hundred tons of earth fell, and it ia feared that other land-elides will take place. Captain Bollons, of the Hinemoa, and Mr. Scott, of the Marine Department, will probably recommend the houses being shifted to a safer position.
