THE HALF-HOLIDAY QUESTION. POPULATION EXEMPTION BASIS. Invercargill, Last Night. The Wednesday Half-holiday Association executive resolved to-night to strongly protest against' the amending clause in the Factories Act makiug any population limit, and urges that the principle of option be universally allowed. A telegram is to be sent to the Premier, Ministers of Labor and Lands, and Southern members accordingly. His Worship the Mayor (Mr. E. Dockrill) is interesting himself in this question at present, and it is not unlikely that a meeting of those interested may be called to tako steps to secure Now Plymouth's exemption from the halfholiday clauses of the Act. It will bo remembered the matter was discussed with the Hon. Mr. Carroll here some months ago. ; ,
