CARRINGTON ROAD BOARD.
The Carringlon Road Board held a special meeting on Wednesday night. Mr L. U. P. Spencer submitted plans and specifications for the contract of widening and re-metalling Victoria road, and lormiug the Mill road. The board adopted the plans, and decided to call tenders for the work, receivable up to September Hi, and providing for completion by December 24. It was reported by the chairman that Mill Road residents had been notified to deposit their £IOO subsidy with the board, otherwise the board would not undertake the work provided for m the loan. A deputation "of sawmill owners met the hoard to discuss the matter of heavy trallie on'the roads, and ; decision was further deferred. It was 1 decided to do away with the open culvert at the corner of Mill and Victoria roads, and to substitute a pipe culvert, the board will, at its next meeting a fortnight hence, adopt plans for m loan work at the upper end of Ore district.
