NIGHTCAPS FATALITIES COMPENSATION.
" Per Press Association. Invereargill, last niglit. The matter of the settlement f.f claims in reference to the Nightcaps I disaster was mentioned in the Supreme Court to-day, and Tiis Honor made the final apportionment as follows: Mrs Carson, £4OO, her children £SOO equally divided; Mrs Duncan, £3OO, her children £6OO, equally divided; the two children of Welch £2OO each. In regard to the settlement it should be mentioned that from the first the company has shown a desire to make adequate "provision for the widows and families of deceased. Before proceedings were instituted it is stated the company offered £IOOO to Mrs Duncan, £looo' to Mrs Carson, and £3OO to the Welch children. .
