UNIONISM IN ENGLAND.
AN IMPORTANT ACCESSION.
London, August 26. Mr G. N. Barnes, Labor member of the House of Commons, who was prominent in the engineers' lock-out of 1887, declared in an interview with the Standard that the Amalgamated Society of Engineers had decided to terminate its existence and to affiliate with the Trade Union Congress. The society has joined the Labor Party and the Federation of Trades Unions.
