FARMERS AND THE ARBITRATION ACT.

I Invercargill, August 23. ■ The Southland Executive of the New | Zealand Fanners' Union to-day resolved | to rccominned the Government to amend the Conciliation and Arbitration Act so | as to exempt from its provisions country I workers. The Act, generally, was deuounced as the most absurd and ridiculous Act ever passed, and ought to be oalled an Act "to promote disputes. The chairman said there was uo discontent amongst agriculture" workers, most of whom .were prospe 3 farmers.
