North Island is dull of sale at 3%il for light weights and 3'/ a d for heavy. Argentine averages 3%d for light weights and 3d for heavy. L.imb: The price of lamb is steady. A decline is probable, as it is getting towards tiie end of (he season. Canterbury brands 5%d. other than Canterbury

Butter: Tlie market is quiet, but firm. A K>ry brisk demand is experienced toi best quality. Prospects for next season are impioving. There is r.o reason to anticipate a dtoliie in price. Choicest Xcw Zealand 105s, Danish 112s, Siberian (His. A large supply of Canadian manufacture, arriving, sold at 105s. Cheese: The market is steady. Canadian supplies are increasing. New Zealand white 00s, colored Cls, Canadian white oils, colored 535. The market is very quiet, flood fair grade on the spot £33 10s, good fair Wellington on the spot .Co 1 ) fair current Manila on the spot £34 10s pert! n. .Inly-Septcmber shipments are quoted at above rates. Cocksfoot seed: Tlie market is dull, and very little business is doing. 171b. seed 53s per ewt. The hop market is firm with a hardening tendency. The Home crop is veiy backward, very small, and of poor quality. It is a bad season, and prices are advancing.
