SUPREME COURT.
Pei Press Association. Christchurch, August 14. William Power, who was serving a sentence of five years' imprisonment, was sentenced to two years' additional for escaping from prison. Henry Dyer, an elderly man moving in respectable society, was sentenced ty ten years' imprisonment on a charge of incest with his grand-daughter, 13'/i years of age. At the Supreme Court to-day, William Juwett Hirst, was found guilty of forging and uttering cheques lor X,'i 15s and .LIU Us at Pahialua. The jury recommended accused to leniency owing tc his previous good character. Sentence was deferred till Friday. Harold Pitt Johnson pleaded not guilty to stealing two boxes of tobacco from the Masterton railway sheds, where he was employed as storemau. Accused was found not guilty,
