THE INVASION OF PERSIA.
A NOTE OF WARNING FROM THE SOWERS. London, August 11. Britain and Russia have urged the Turkish Porte to withdraw from Persia the Turkish troops who Invaded the territory and destroyed several villages last week.
INTERESTING DEVELOPMENTS PROBABLE. Received 12th, 9.3'J p.m. Constantinople, August 12. Advice has been received that the Frontier Commissioner!- will shortly inquire into the Meivan affair. Turkey and Persia have each given a pledge to punish their own officers i: tound guilty. On the other hand it is announced at Teheran that Prince Firma, the new Governor at Azerbaijan, raised; at his own expense, iO,0(K) men in readiness to proceed to the frontier. The Prince refused Parliament's offer of £15,00 C towards the initial expenses of the expedition.
