PASTEURISED BUTTER.

Per Press Association. Wellington, August 12. The Department of Agrieuluturc has decided to take tests as to the practical value of the principle of pasteurisation as applied to butter-making. Certain boxes of pasteurised butter will be held in cool store in the colony, and treated under much the same conditions as butter to be distributed on the British markets. Along with the pasteurised butter there will be stored butter made under ordinary conditions, and thus at the end of the time corresponding with that which it would take for | the butter to got into the hands of the British consumer, a fair idea may bo estimated as to how butter from pasteurised milk will compare witii butter i?cm nnpasteurised milk.
