THE ADJUSTMENT 01? ACCOUNT; At the meeting of the committeeappointed by the Taranaki"t. Council and the Fitzroy Town Board t< adjust accounts between tile Fitzroj lown District and tho Council, Mr J Brown, county chairman, presided. it was decided to take the adjust, meat on a valuation basis. The conference approved of the statement oi liabilities and assets submitted, variabilities, £4043 17s 2d; assets, £3135 109 3d; excess of liabilities over ass?ts CSOB (is lid. The valuation of (he! county was shown at £1,995,850, and of the lowa district £126,200. The combined committees found that tie Fitzroy Town District's share of the liabilities was £sl, and their liospital and charitable aid contribution £42, and recommended that the sum of £93 be paid by the Board to tho Council, to be paid within three years, with bank ralto of interest; that the Fitzroy Town District be granted the lamps and fittings used for road lighting purposes, the said district, foregoing any claim for the balance of subsidy due for lighting; that the town district be granted "the remaining New Plymouth contribution towards the upkeep of Devon road until the agreement between the borough aud county expires; tlmt tho town district's share of the public debt was ascertained to be £B(4, and that the Governor-in-Council be re-
