EGMONT ROAD PUBLIC HALL
A large number of settlers attended the meeting at ivginout Koad on Monday night to consider the question of a htiu site. Mr H. C. Sampson said he would bo prepared to Jet the settlers have & site of a quarter of an acre on the Egmont Koad, and one of 2% acres on the Henwood Road, the former to cost £5 and the latter £25. The chairraau moved that the 2y s -acre site on Hen wood Koad offered by. Mr Bampsor should be acquired. Mr N. W. Hill seconded. Air C. Barribali said that if they were going to have an Egmont Koad hall they should have it on Egmont Koad, not on some other road. He moved in favor of securing the site on Egmont Koad. Mr E. Locke seconded. The voting waß: For Egmont Road site, 19; against, 10. Complaints were made tliat a quarteracre was too small. Mr Sampson said sooner than see the people stuck he [would sell an acre.
