WAITARA WEST ROAD BOARD.

At the monthly meeting of the above ,Board, there were present: Messrs S. Turnbull (Chairman), Connett, Smith Western and Yule.

Correspondence was read from the Valuation Department stating that the revised valuation roll had been forwarded for public inspection! from the Treasury stating that the special order for the 10 per cent Waitara road loan would require to be validated; and from same notifying that balance of grant to Cross road had been, forwarded.

Hie chairman reported that some of the survey pegs on Everett road bad been found, and- that Messrs Hollins Bros, would now be able to erect their fence.

The clerk- was re-appointed at a salary of £3O for the ensuing year. Mr Western reported that he had in»peeted the ditch on the Brown road, and the clerk was directed to write and (request Mrs Jenneirs to clean out same. I The surfaceman, T. Paul, reported that ho had opened up a gravel pit in Mrs Monroe's, made a_ road to same, and procured about 40yds of metal for repairs on Richmond and Wortloy roads; he had been engaged the remainder of the month in making watertables and raking in metal on To Arei road Bepairs to metal on Manutahl West road wore authorised, also formation on Manutahi East road.

The surfaceman, F. Loveridge, reported that about 20yds of metal were required for repairs on Tait road, and two roads on Karaka road to join the two pieces of metal lately put down. The surfacemen were directed to grub out all furze and cut blackberries on the [Board's property. The clerk was directed to send notice re furze on roads to several ratepayers. The special order making rate for loan of £2OO for construction of Davis road was adopted. Accounts amounting to '£33 were passed for payment and the Board adjourned.
