THE SHORT CUT TO DIVORCE.

Per Tress Association. Wellington, July 29. The Council of Evangelical Churches to-night passed the following resolution —"That whereas the law relating to the restitution of conjugal rights proves to be a very short cut to divorce, which was | robiibly not intended, it is legitimiite'y desirable that the law be 10 amended as, while retaining the right of action for alimony to prevent the issue of any order, the issue of which would be construed to be equivalent to five rears' desertion."
