Per Press Association. Auckland, July 24. James Paul Huekstep, a single man., aged about forty, was found dead, hanging from a tree at Newmarket, this afternoon. Paul Marie, chef at Tiffin's restaurant, and Emile Debalnmn, a young cook who had just been engaged, were badly scalded this morning by the explosion of a steam cheat used for cooking food. The report of the explosion and screams of the sufferers attracted assistance. They were attended to, and then removed to the hospital. Neither of them is very seriously hurt. Wellington, July 24. The body of James McEniriney, aged 17, a laborer, was found to-day hanging l>y'the neck from a tree in Newtown Park. Deceased had been out of work, and in ill-health. Nelson, July 24. By the collapse of a scaffolding at Molicr's new building in Bridge street this afternoon, throe men were injured. A workman named Knapp was working on the scaffolding when a bearer snapped and part of the scaffolding fell with Knapp, who was slightly hurt. S. Galbraith, the contractor, and a workman named Mauscn, were on a ladder at the time, and they were struck by the falling material and knocked to the ground. Hansen fell about 20 feet. He was not much hurt, but some sheets of iron fell on Gnlbraith, cutting him bad)y..
