August 22nd has been fixed for the Auckland-Taranaki rep. fixture at New Plymouth. As the new Recreation Sports Ground will not be quite ready then for play, the Tarannki Rugby Union is endeavoring to arrange with Auckland to play the match three weeks later, on the return of the Aucklanders from the Southern tour. Three weeks would bring {lie fixture to September 12th. and three weeks at that (season of the year would make an immense difference to the turf. The local union is anxiously awaiting a reply. Should the postponement be impossible, the Western Park (also scarcely completed) ground will be officially measured.
