ENFORCEMENT OF AWARDS.
A BIG SUM IN DISPUTE. Per Press Association. Chrisfchurch, July 16. At the Arbitration Court this afternoon proceedings were taken by the Inspector of Awards against the Christchurch Press Co., the Lyttelton Times, and Whitcoinbe and Tombs, Ltd., to obtain enforcement of the industrial award and which were alleged to provide tlut employees in the printing trade in C'hristi'lmrc-h should be paid for certain holidays. Evidence was called to show that holidays hid n:vei before been pail for by master printers in Cliristchurch. Counsel for the respondents stated thai if the application was granted it would menu a din'crcnee to the three firnif ~/.. about £151)0, and if back pay were awnrded it would amount io between £7OOO and £»W. Decision uas revived.
